The beginning of August this year witnessed a significant addition to Joy FM’s numerous initiatives.
That is the introduction of the ‘Health and Wellness Series’. The second edition of the quarterly event, scheduled for next month, has been announced.
The ‘Health and Wellness Series’ maintains its aim of creating awareness on the scope of the Ghanaian health sector, as well as address some of its associated hurdles and how to overcome them. The second edition is scheduled for December 12.
In its maiden edition, the initiative, which maximizes conversations from the once-per-week mini episode with its resident doctor, Yaw Osafo, on ‘Drivetime on Joy’ show, proved to be informative and beneficial to both on-ground audience and radio listeners. The program was further streamed live on YouTube, offering a platform for health professionals to address misconceptions, offer advice, solutions, and answer questions from patrons and audience in health-related matters.
The Health and Wellness Series zoomed in on health-seeking habits, health financing, curative health services predominating over preventive and promotive health services, amongst others.
As the second edition approaches in December, Joy FM, through the Health and Wellness initiative will continue to create the awareness on the need for a culture of periodic professional medical consultation, as well as sustain the platform for interaction between health care professionals and patrons.
The Health and Wellness Series will go live on Joy 99.7 FM and stream live on YouTube on Monday, December 12, hosted by renowned broadcaster Lexis Bill.
