Aspiring General Secretary for the NDC, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, has commended the Chiefs and people of Anlo for the very unique symbol of unity shown during the 60th Hogbetsotso Festival held in Anloga.
Mr. Afriyie Ankrah made the comments during the grand durbar of Chiefs and people of the 36 towns of Anlo with its special Guest, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He said the 2022 Hogbetsotso Za was one of the biggest ever celebrated in the history of Anlo with a huge crowd of guests and patrons.
He noted that the huge crowd at the durbar, especially with the Asantehene and other notable Kings and Queens from across the country and beyond as well as other guests who graced the occasion made it very unique and also a sign of unity among the people.
Mr. Afriyie Ankrah noted that it is very important for all ethnic groups to be united for a common goal of development in the country.
"I am impressed with the display of unity shown by the Chiefs and the people and also the collaboration between them which would help bring development to all ethnic groups in the country," Afriyie Ankrah said.
According to him, the presence of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Anlo Hogbetsotso Za and other prominent chiefs at the invitation of the Awormefia signifies a long-lasting relationship in the bid to help promote unity and development among the ethnic groups in the country.
Mr. Afriyie Ankrah also had interactions with the chiefs in the company of former President John Mahama and some party gurus and pledged his unflinching support towards improving a more unified party as the NDC prepares for their internal elections at the national level in December.
He noted that there is an urgent need to have NDC back come 2024 in order for Ghanaians to have more quality and reliable leadership and an improved economy.
