An infection in her teeth turned into a mouth ulcer, which spread to her neck and chest area.

Doctors had to remove large tracts of flesh from her throat to her chest and breast to contain the spread of the infection.

Thirty-year-old Odelia Baiddoo now needs special surgery to graft the huge open chest wound to enable her function.

Odelia had a tooth infection that she treated with herbs at home due to financial difficulties.

The infection developed into a huge ulcer that spread through her throat area to the chest.

Doctors had to remove a large flesh area from her throat through to her chest and part of her breast.

Wadoma Foundation CEO, Kwasi Owusu and his wife Dr. Eunice Boakye came to her rescue

After surgery, Odelia had to be detained for days at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for her inability to pay her bills of almost one thousand Ghana cedis.

The mother of four from Sefwi Piakrom also needed money for surgery to do a skin grafting surgery that will enable her function.

Nursing Officer at the KATH, Amakye Samuel

Amakye Samuel is a Nursing Officer at the KATH, who assisted her.

CEO of Wadoma Foundation, Kwasi Owusu and his wife Dr. Eunice Boakye came to her rescue.

They paid her discharge fees and have donated money to enable her to get the surgery she needs.

Odelia is grateful.
