Private Legal Practioner, Martin Kpebu says signatures are being collated for Parliament to impeach President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen on Monday, he said that the process is currently being carried out online.
According to him, the group wants to proceed in accordance with what the 1992 Constitution provides under Article 69 - impeachment or Article 66 or resignation by himself.
This follows the 'Kume preko' demonstration led by Mr. Kpebu on Saturday, November 5 over the prevailing economic hardship.
Protesters in their hundreds demanded President Akufo-Addo's resignation for his inability to manage the economy.
However, on Monday, the President is still in office without any indication of resigning.
When asked what the next step for the group is, Mr. Kpebu said “we are petitioning online to Parliament. We want Parliament to impeach him.”
The lead organiser of the 'Kume Preko reloaded' demonstration said the protest will persist until the desired outcome is achieved.
In a related development, the private legal practitioner has hinted at holding similar protests in other regions of the country.
Mr. Martin Kpebu who was speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show explained that this will give the populace across the country the chance to express their frustration towards the Akufo-Addo government.
He insisted that the incumbent government has mismanaged the economy, thus, must resign for the citizenry to vote for a more competent person to steer affairs of the state.
“We are still debriefing, it is quite a process. We’ll have other meetings to analyze but even before we were done with this one, we had received invitations from people in Kumasi, Takoradi, and even Tamale to come.
“So we’ll need funding,” he told hosts Winston Amoah and Kojo Yankson on Monday.
