The Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG) has embarked on an insurance awareness tour to St. Mary’s Senior High School and Accra High School, all in the Greater Accra Region.
The delegation to both schools, made up of the leadership and some officers of the Association, paid courtesy calls on the Heads of the schools and also engaged the students to educate them on insurance, career opportunities and the role of Insurance Brokers in giving customers the best of insurance experience.
Additionally, the IBAG team took time to address some negative perceptions and misconceptions about insurance.
At St. Mary’s Senior High School, the Headmistress, Philomena Owusu-Ansah Barnes shared her experiences regarding the use of an Insurance Broker. She testified that through her Insurance Broker, she enjoyed fair treatment and prompt settlement of claims.
Also, at Accra High School, Evelyn Nabia, who is the Headmistress of the school, confirmed that she has signed onto several insurance policies and therefore encouraged the students to cultivate the habit of investment and insurance whilst in school.
At the end of the presentation, students who were able to correctly answer questions posed by the IBAG Team, were rewarded with some prizes.
The Association also donated some items to these schools based on their communicated needs. St. Mary’s Senior High School received a projector and an electronic screen, while an electrical pepper mill was donated to Accra High School.
The headmistresses of both schools, applauded IBAG for the education as well as the donations.
