The Black Meteors defeated Mozambique 2-1 in the first leg of their CAF U-23 AFCON second-round qualifier thanks to a brace from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
The Hearts of Oak forward boosted a 100% record from the spot in the game as he scored twice from the penalties to ensure Ibrahim Tanko's side snatched a vital win.
Barnieh stepped up to convert the first in the 64th minute of the game after being fouled in the box before grabbing his second 12 minutes later.
Despite mounting a challenge, Mozambique was only able to score a consolation goal in the 88th minute.
The second leg of the fixture is scheduled for Sunday, October 30, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
