Three journalists with The Multimedia Group have progressed to the finals of this year's West Africa Media Excellence Awards (WAMECA).
Seth Kwame Boateng, Kwetey Nartey and Emmanuel Kwesi Debrah, were named amongst 25 other journalists across West Africa.
The finalists were selected by a five-member panel of esteemed media practitioners and experts after reviewing applications from 952 entries from all sixteen West African countries.
According to the organisers, the ultimate winners will be announced at the Awards event on Saturday, at the Alisa Hotel, Accra, Ghana.
The event will be graced by "media experts, high-level personalities and delegates from sub-regional bodies and civil society groups", the organisers revealed.
At the award ceremony, all finalists will receive a Certificate of Merit for their efforts in that regard.
The ultimate winners will however receive plaques, certificates and various cash prizes.
To enhance the capacity of the finalists, all 25 of them will be formally inducted as fellows of the Media Foundation for West Africa's Journalism for Change Network.
They will also be offered local and international training opportunities to enhance their capacity to influence positive change in society through journalism.
West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards (WAMECA 2022) is supported by the US Embassy in Ghana, US-based William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, MTN-Ghana, UNESCO and Stanbic Bank Ghana.
The event is also supported by about 65 media partners across West Africa.
