Black Galaxies forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, will not extend his contract with Accra Hearts of Oak, JoySports understands.
The 21-year-old has rejected renewal offers from the club in recent months with JoySports checks revealing the player is hoping to run down his contract at the club as he hopes for a potential deal abroad.
Since joining the club on an initial three-year deal in 2019, Barnieh has been a vital part of the Phobians' team. He was instrumental during the club's Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup triumphs at the end of the 2020/21 season.
He also played a role in Hearts defending the FA Cup last season and also featured in the President's Cup win over Asante Kotoko.
In wake of his performances and with just two months left on his current deal, the club has been trying to tie him down to a new contract but the forward has rejected the offers.
The news of Barnieh's unwillingness to sign a new deal will be a huge blow for Hearts, who are currently headed to Mali, where they face AS Real Bamako in the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday, October 9.
