Newly-inducted engineers into the Institution of Engineers and Technology (IET)–Ghana have been asked to maintain professional standards in their chosen profession.
President of the Institution, Engineer Henry Kwadwo Boateng, who delivered the oath to the 37 inductees, urged them to uphold the profession's code of ethics and standards.
He encouraged them to follow the Engineering Regulation 2020, LI 24 (10) to ensure quality work is delivered.
The inauguration and induction event was at the Akenten Appiah-Minka University of Skills and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED).
Professionals from various engineering sectors, including building/construction mechanical, automobile, aviation, marine, and agricultural, were among those inducted.
Engineer Boateng stated that IET is committed to developing member ability to ensure quality work is provided at all levels.
Professor Humphrey Danso, Dean of the Faculty of Technical Education at the Akenten Appiah-Minka University of Skills and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), urged the Institution to promote engineering and technology practices to influence policy and enhance professional development.
Inductees expressed gratitude and commitment to uphold and defend the profession's code of ethics and standards.
