Two of Joy Learning’s facilitators have been nominated as finalists in this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize.
They are Stella Gyimaah Larbi, a teacher of the Adenta Community Senior High School, and Samuel Sakyi-Addo, a teacher of the Achimota Senior High School.
They join other 13 finalists selected for the teaching category of the full list.
Other categories unveiled by the National Teaching Council (NTC) are the ‘Teacher in Leadership and Administration’, and the ‘Non-Teaching’ categories.
This year’s Ghana Teacher Prize is the 27th edition since the establishment of the awards scheme in 1995.
In all, 23 finalists have been unveiled.
The most outstanding teacher gets a three-bedroom apartment, with the first runner-up getting a 4x4 pickup vehicle.
Also, the second runner-up will get a saloon car.
Meanwhile, the winners of this eminent award scheme are expected to be announced at a national durbar on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Tamale.
The objective of the Ghana Teacher Prize is to motivate teachers for higher performance and ensure there is a positive attitude towards the profession.
It underscores the importance of the teaching profession and symbolises the fact that teachers, throughout the world, deserve to be recognized and celebrated.
