Nigeria has stormed to gold in the 4x100m women's relay final of the Commonwealth Games as Ghana lagged behind in 7th.
Finishing ahead of England (silver) and Jamaica (bronze), the Nigerians run a new African record of 42.10s.
They had the experienced quartet of Tobi Amusan (reigning 110m world champion) starting, Favour Ofili (reigning 200m Commonwealth Games silver medallist), Rose Chukwuma, and Grace Nwokocha on anchor as a packed stadium in Birmingham looked on.
Ghana's quartet, conversely, were only running together for the second time, having done so first on Saturday during the heats. Starting the race was Mary Boakye (Ghana Armed Forces), Latifa Ali of the Coppin State University, Gifty Kwakyewaa Oku (University of Education, Winneba) and Hor Halutie (Coppin State University) on the anchor leg.
The Ghanaians ran 44.86s.
Meanwhile, Nigeria - who are having a sterling Games - also won bronze in the men's 4x100m, coming behind Trinidad and Tobago and eventual gold medallists, England.
