Members of the Governing Council of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) have paid an official visit to the Eastern Regional Hospital.
The visit was to access first-hand information on the quality of health care service delivery and the challenges confronting the hospital.
The visit took place on Tuesday, July 19.
Dr. Arko Akoto-Ampaw, the Medical Director of the hospital who welcomed the Council's members expressed his gratitude for the visit.
According to him, it was a rare privilege to have the highest decision making body of the GHS visit the facility.
"This visit will certainly spur the morale of staff and Management to continue to deliver on quality service to clients and visitors,” he said.
The Chairman of the Council, Dr. Sefah Sarpong Bediakoh together with the Regional Director of Health Service, Dr. Fosu Winfred and Management of the Hospital toured all units and wards of the facility to inspect the level of service rendered to clients and areas to improve.
The Chairman, after the tour, expressed his satisfaction with the level of maintenance of the facility.
He thus commended the Management for the positive initiatives being implemented at the facility.
Dr. Sefah Sarpong Bediakoh further encouraged Management and staff to make customer service their topmost priority.
"The Eastern Regional Hospital continues to be a trailblazer in health care delivery in Ghana," said the Chairman of the Council.
