Confidential reports gathered by JOY Sports have revealed that the Kofi Sarfo Antwi, editor of the official mouthpiece of Accra Hearts of Oak, ‘Hearts News’ has threatened to resign over unpaid salaries and allowances.
The reports indicate that the editor feels frustrated over the lack of logistics which the staff needs to work with.
Sources reveal that besides the Hearts News salaries being meager; they have not been paid consistently as staff members are owed over 5 months payment.
The delay in the payment of salaries is said to have necessitated the resignation of one of its workers. Other staff have been working using their personal resources.
The Editor, Sarfo Antwi is said to be unhappy with the sidelining of Hearts News staff when the team travels for matches away from Accra. Although he has consistently complained to the Board, his plea has fallen on deaf ears.
The Hearts News Editor, unhappy with the neglect from the management has attempted on several occasions to secure payment of arrears in the staff salaries.
With reports of the passing of his mother and the Club's seeming reluctance to assist him in his time of difficulty, let alone pay his salary, Mr Antwi has finally threatened to resign.
Efforts to have management members of the club to confirm or deny the story have proved futile.
