The Ghana Football Association (GFA) must create an enabling environment for players to be able to move from one stage to the other, according to Black Stars assistant coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
The path to ensure a smooth transition for young players from one national team to another has been the missing piece in Ghana's football cycle, leading to some below-par performances from some of the junior teams.
With lots of continental and global football events happening between now and next year, Ghana will have no representative at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, U-17 and U-20 AFCONs as well as missing out on the U-17 Women's World Cup.
Speaking to Joy Sports, the former Black Maidens head coach advised the GFA to create a good environment to aid the transition of layers from one national team to another.
"The transition of a player is a process. It is not an event and this process demands a lot of factors," Dramani said.
"You [need to] look at the environment, personality and the support base. So when you look at the environment, how is the person coming in? Then you are thinking about the weather, about the food, about the people around, the language. Based on all these fundamentals, it tells you that you have to accept the person the way he is.
"Sometimes we're thinking about the transition of players but the environment itself you need to transition it. Even coaches or administrators at every level you need to transit. So when you are transiting you have to understudy quickly and then integrate.
"[Also] the environment needs to accept you. It's about the person who is receiving you. For instance, if I am receiving you in a new environment, I have to receive you and you have to also accept me immediately. Once you have good communication amongst the players, you need to let them know that they have to accept what they are seeing."
With appointment given until the end of December, Dramani together with Otto Addo, George Boateng and Chris Hughton will lead the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
