The Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edem Agbana, has expressed concerns about the frequency of scandals involving the National Cathedral.
According to him, the influx of the scandals is akin to the mercies of God, which are new every morning.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 22, the NDC executive also questioned the silence of the Project's trustees, in the midst of the raging controversies surrounding the Project.
"The National Cathedral scandals are fiercely competing with the mercies of God; they are new every morning. All these thievery and our revered men of God (Trustees) are still loudly silent?", he quizzed.
Mr. Agbana's concerns come in the wake of recent revelations and rumours about the Project.
On Tuesday, speculations were rife about how the Project's Secretariat had given an amount of $50,000 to gospel musician, Sonnie Badu to perform at the launch of the National Cathedral fundraiser in the USA.
As a result, hundreds of social media users decried the rumour and expressed their disgust about the profligacy of the managers of the National Cathedral. But in a quick rebuttal, the National Cathedral Secretariat debunked the rumours, together with a disclaimer from the singer, Sonnie Badu.
According to him, he and his team were not even hosted well at the event.
Wow, thanks for alerting me , I was not given a dime .. not even a seat for me and my team , We stood outside.. https://t.co/UmWNNkAF2H

Earlier, there were also public uncertainties about the status of the National Cathedral Project.
This was after the North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa alleged in a Facebook post on Monday that, based on documents available to him, the National Cathedral is a private entity.
This was contrary to claims by the Cathedral's Secretariat that the Project is a public establishment.
Other controversies that have emerged have also had to do with the payment of some huge sums to the architect of the Project, Mr David Adjaye.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has asked the churches in the country to distance themselves from the controversial National Cathedral Project.
He said their association with the Project will do their reputation more harm than good.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Sam George said although he had wanted to remain silent on the issues surrounding the project, current developments have compelled him to speak up.
“I have tried to be silent on this Cathedral matter, but I honestly believe it is about time the Church distances itself from the blatant theft and robbery going on in the name of GOD”.
“Again, they claimed to have paid GHS30,000 to each of the gospel artistes who ministered at the launch here in Accra. Can those artistes also confirm if they received these monies?,’ he quizzed in a Facebook post on Tuesday, June 21.
