Gospel musician Celestine Donkor is seeking opinions from her fans on whether or not she should accept an offer to advertise for a betting company.
In a post on Instagram, the singer shared an email from the company offering to pay her up to $7,000 for her services.
Celestine Donkor noted that this money would go a long way to help her ministry should she accept to advertise the company on her social media handles.
“The message is from "A FOREIGN BETTING COMPANY”, they Like my numbers and want me to advertise for them on my pages for the cool amount. Question is, Should I accept?” she quizzed.
However, she added that if she accepts the offer “how would the Christian community react if a gospel musician is chosen as an ambassador for a betting company or an alcoholic beverage?”
Celestine Donkor admitted that it is becoming increasingly difficult for gospel artistes to receive sponsorships hence the dilemma.
“This is not because we don’t have the numbers. In this current harsh economy, this money would help a lot to push my ministry,” she wrote.
Celestine Donkor urged her followers to share their views with her on what they believe is the right decision for her to take.
Meanwhile, Celestine Donkor is not the only gospel artistes who has opened up about some of the challenges they face when it comes to investments.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the artiste said he is feeling the heat, especially since all his efforts to bring investors to his side are proving futile.
Joe Mettle revealed that investors who assured him of their help during his last concert backed out at the last minute.
The singer believes the reason for the unfortunate setback is the focus on the part of the investors, which may not align well with his brand.
He added that business uncertainties and the economic setbacks Covid-19 caused, are also some of the reasons some investors hold back from gospel musicians.
