The Chief Executive of Adamus Mine, Angela List has pledged to release more lands for community mining.
The Western Region-based mining firm has recently been accused by youth groups of failing to support government’s community mining programme.
The host communities said Adamus Mine is being heavy-handed in its quest to protect the plant site from illegal miners.
This has severed the relationship between the Company and especially young people in these communities.
But the Adamus CEO, in an interview JoyNews refuted the claims.
According to Madam List, a series of mediation engagements are being held to iron out differences and improve the relations.
She also noted that her outfit is only bent on ensuring responsible mining once the lands are released.
On the thorny issue about the release of lands for community mining, she was emphatic that beyond the 100 acres released they are in talks with stakeholders to give out more.
