A sister of two siblings who were crashed to death by a speeding car at Ejisu-Besease collapsed upon hearing the news of their demise.
Rabiatu Mohammed, 35 years old, was resuscitated by medics at the Ejisu-Besease Catholic Medical Centre.
Hamidu Mohammed and Abdul Rahman Mohammed aged 62 and 50 years respectively, and their brother in-law Masawudu Nalko, were crushed to death by a speeding car on Sunday morning.
The three men were standing on the shoulders of the road when a Honda CR-V vehicle with registration number AS 2221-22 ran into them on the Ejisu stretch of the Kumasi-Accra Road.
Rabiatu's husband, Awudu Isakar, who has been at her bedside tells LuvNews his wife is yet to recover from the shock.
Rabiatu lost both parents last year and have been depending on her brothers.
“My wife has lost both parents. She has kept all her faith in the brothers ever since she lost her parents. So, she was shocked to hear the death. She collapsed immediately she was hit with the news of losing her brothers.”
Rabiatu, in her first-ever interview after being discharged from the hospital, told JoyNews that she is shocked at the death of her brothers.
“For northerners, your eldest brother takes the role of father upon demise of your father. My brother has been acting as my father all the time.
Anytime I need my father to represent me, I present my elder brother as father. To learn all my brothers have been killed, I could not withstand it,” she said.
“In fact, I was disturbed and passed out only to wake up at the hospital with drips.”
Meanwhile, Moslem prayers have been said for Massawudu Nalko, one of the victims.
The National Democratic Congress was represented by a delegation led by former Youth and Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah at the funeral.
