Actress Lydia Forson wants to see the Ghanaian movie industry enjoy the grace the music industry is currently enjoying.
Speaking to Joy Prime's Ibrahim Ben-Bako at the VGMA on Saturday, she said she was optimistic that the film industry can achieve the same as the year was good for Ghanaian music on the Global front.
"I was just reminiscing and thinking how far the Ghana music has come, and I was literally like I 'you know what, I want the same for Ghanaian movie'. It’s been a great year so far for Ghanaian music," Lydia Forson said.
"This is how powerful we are when we come together and believe in ourselves," she added.
The actress went on to mention the names of some Ghanaian musicians who have had a global trend in the year.
"We have Black Sherif trending; we have Cammidoh trending; we have Kelvin Boy and so many other Ghanaian artistes that have trended on the global front, not forgetting the women Cina Soul, Adina and Sefa; they are all doing amazing," she noted.
Lydia Forson commended reggae/dancehall act Stonebwoy on his Def Jam record signing and called on Ghanaians to support him.
"We can only get higher, and I just really feel like a lot has to do with the Ghanaian people really believing in our artistes and pushing us out there," she said.
