The Zongo chief in the Ashanti region, Umar Farouk Saeed, has rallied Muslims to devote their resources toward unity and peace.
He used an Iftar dinner at his residence to appeal to the Muslims, describing it as important for Ghana's growth and development.
He addressed Muslim leaders, and politicians among others in the Ashanti region.
Iftar literally means fast-breaking meal.
The organizers say the event is a message of communal harmony, something that they have always lived with, but that needs to be highlighted now more than ever.
About 50 people attended the event, in keeping with the benevolent spirit of Ramadan.
A representative from the Vice President's office, Ali Suraj says it was a privilege to dine with the section of Muslims at the Sarkin Zongo residence.
Participants commended the Vice President for the Iftar and urged Muslims to make an effort to change the lives of others.
NDC organiser for Asawase constituency, Ibrahim Anyars also urged Muslims to put their party colours aside and forge together.
"We are all one people whether you belong to one party or not. The Zongo chief wants to see the progress of Zongos across the country," he said.
Umar Farouk Saeed, therefore, called on Muslims to take advantage of the month of Ramadan to pray for peace and unity among Ghanaians.
"We stand together, we fall apart. Let's unite for our progress," the chief said.
