The 2009 MTN President’s Cup comes off on the scheduled 1st July, 2009 with supporters of both clubs billed to battle on the day upbeat about a victory.
In various interviews with Myjoyonline.com, supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak maintained the Phobians are up to run chewy Sekondi Eleven Wise.
“Victory is already ours,” Nii Quartey, a Phobian fan said.
But supporters of Eleven Wise say they are unfazed by the threats of their opponents. Supporters of the Sekondi-based club believe they surely would carry the day.
This year’s cup comes with some interesting fixtures which will see ex-footballers meeting Members of Parliament (MPs); the Actors’ Guild meeting GHALCA; and the Media clashing with MUSIGA.
The squad for the ex-footballers include the popular Alhaji Polo, Alhaji Ibrahim Sunday and Sammy Kuffour.
The Premier League Board of the Ghana Football Association says it has secured the biggest sponsorship so far to make the game worthwhile.
Main sponsors of the event: MTN, Voltic Mineral Water, OMP and Metro Mass Transport, are up with attractive packages all designed to ensure the success of the event.
MMT has agreed to provide 20 buses to convey supporters of the two main football clubs playing on day to the Ohene Gyan Sports Stadium.
Eight buses are billed to convey supporters of Eleven Wise from Sekondi, Elmina and Cape Coast.
Supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak will be transported from Nsawam, Kasoa, Madina, Adenta, Ashaiman, Tema, Achimota and other suburbs of Accra at discounted fares.
The 2009 MTN President’s Cup is the biggest in the long history of the annual event, organisers say.
