Gospel musician Sarah Sings has urge Ghanaians to embrace contemporary gospel music.
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz, she mentioned that the word of God could be spread through different ways and music is one of them.
It is believed that most Ghanaians prefer the indigenous style of gospel music which mostly comes in the form of highlife. This notion has made it very difficult for young artistes to penetrate through the gospel industry with their contemporary style of spreading the word of God.
The singer who is based in the United States of America tells host of Daybreak Hitz; KMJ that it’s about time Ghanaians embrace different forms of genres of music used by new Gospel artistes to spread the Gospel.
“Younger people are all blessed with different talents and I think we should embrace them. A lot of the young gospel artistes coming up are doing more contemporary songs. We all have our own style of singing and we get a lot of Criticism for that. I think we all have to be open to the change because it’s still the gospel.”
Sarah Sings however urged contemporary musicians not to restrict themselves which regards to exploring new genres. According to her, there is a market ready to embrace any form of music.
“God wants you to reach different people so whatever song he gifts you should go in that flow. We should all stay to who we are. I don’t think the gospel is distorted regardless of the style of music.”
