Sulley Muntari has his sights set on helping Accra Hearts of Oak catch up with Asante Kotoko on top of the Ghana Premier League table after opening his goalscoring account for the club.
Muntari scored from the penalty spot in the second half of the game to ensure a 2-1 victory for the Phobians in their matchday 19 fixture against WAFA at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite winning on Wednesday, Hearts still find themselves 12 points behind the Porcupine Warriors, who were held by Bechem United on Tuesday, March 8.
Speaking to StarTimes after the game, the former Black Stars midfielder talked up how the Accra-based side can close in on the arch-rivals in the league.
"We are to concentrate game by game as we did today," Muntari said.
"Now we have to go home and rest and then think about the next game that is ahead."
Quizzed on the points gap between his side and the Kumasi-based outfit, Muntari added, "Kotoko is ahead but we need to look at what we do, not what they do with all due respect to them. They are playing well, they are having a great season, we want to focus on game by game."
The win on Wednesday sees Hearts rise to the fifth position on the league table.
