The technical team of the Black Stars is set to hand call ups to Ghanaian trio, Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu and Felix Afena-Gyan ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier game against Nigeria, Joy Sports understands.

Ghana will host the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday, March 25, in the first leg of the playoff before travelling to Nigeria for the reverse encounter.

Semenyo has been heavily involved in Bristol City's 2021/22 season in the English Championship, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 22 games.

The forward is said to have been on the cards for the Black Stars for some time now and is in line to earn his maiden call-up into the national team.

Another player who could be in line for a first Black Stars invitation is Gent's Elisha Owusu. The 24-year-old has played in 15 league games in the Belgian Pro League and looks to have caught the attention of the technical team.

Having been given birth to in France, the midfielder represented the European nation at youth levels and is eligible to play for Ghana.

Afena-Gyan, on the other hand, turned down a maiden call-up to the national team back in November for the final round of qualifier against Ethiopia and South Africa.

However, the youngster is likely to be available for the all-important double-header against the Super Eagles later this month for a place in Qatar.

The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo is expected to name the squad for the game this week ahead of the team's camping for the game.
