One of the robbers has been apprehended and is currently in custody, the Police added.
In a Facebook post, the Police assured that the "full details will be communicated in due course."
On Monday, February 21, five masked armed robbers attacked over 40 Kumasi-bound passengers.
A victim, Ekua, narrating the incident, said the armed men "with rifles and other weapons attacked us and made away with our monies and other belongings. All of them were wearing masks.”
According to her, after completing their mission, the robbers pleaded that the victims intercede on their behalf whenever they say a prayer since they robbed to make earns meet.
“After the robbery, they asked us to pray for them because it was not their will to stop vehicles on the highway and rob passengers of their belongings, but the system has compelled them to do so."
The driver of the vehicle, Agya Owusu, disclosed nothing he could have done to save the situation.
The stranded passengers lodged a complaint with the Anwiankwanta Police Station.
