Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency, Michael Okyere Baafi, is urging for calm among members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who intend to contest for the party's polling station elections.
According to him, the exercise is an important process in the party's quest to break the 8, hence requires inclusiveness and fair play.
He said the series of allegations against Constituency Executives over deliberate attempts to prevent interested party members from picking nomination forms for the contest must be resolved.
The Deputy Minister of Trade encouraged Constituency Executives to ensure that all qualified card bearing members interested in the contest are permitted to do same.
Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi, however, denied allegations that some incumbent polling station executives in New Juaben South who were supposed to benefit from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's free nomination forms were omitted.
He said, every polling station executive in New Juaben South Constituency has been issued with a free form whiles new entrants have also been given the opportunity to pick a form and contest.
Michael Okyere Baafi indicated that, records from the New Juaben South Election Committee suggest that, about 4500 nomination forms have been issued out already; which indicate that majority of members who want to contest have been served.
He said an additional 500 nomination forms have been requested from the party's national office to ensure that as many people who are interested in the election get the opportunity to contest.
He called on party members to stay united for a common purpose of breaking the 8 and serving Ghana with dedication.
