Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa has said that he is impressed by the progress of work on the UHAS-Titrinu bypass being constructed by the First Sky Group.
The project, being undertaken by the First Sky Group Limited, according to Dr. Letsa, after completion, will help reduce traffic in and out of the main Ho town, which includes the UHAS internal roads.
Speaking during an inspection tour of the roads, Dr. Letsa noted that the progress made is very satisfying, especially with the level of work done so far on the designated areas by the contractor.
"I am very much impressed about the progress of work done so far on the UHAS-Titrinu bypass and the UHAS internal roads and I believe they will meet the deadline of completion, because I know what they can do," Dr. Letsa said
The Regional Minister is hopeful that the heavy traffic experienced by motorists in town, will reduce drastically and economic activities in those areas will improve when the project is complete.
Meanwhile, the Volta Regional Director for Urban Roads, Mr. Edward Kwame Annan in an interview with the media during the inspection tour noted that works on the roundabouts at Gborgame, UHAS, Catholic Secretariat are yet to be completed and should not be used while work is ongoing.
Mr. Annan said the Urban Roads Department is working on some traffic management interventions on the UHAS-Titrinu bypass and the dual carriageway.
Residents in the area are optimistic that the completion of the road would help improve their businesses as many drivers using the road as well as students would patronise their wares.
The construction works include Earthworks, road pavement works, concrete U drains of varying sizes, lay-bys, and walkways.
Installation of Traffic Signs, Traffic Signals, Street Lights, and Road Markings.
Work on the UHAS-Titrinu bypass is expected to be completed in November, this year.
The UHAS internal road is 5.3 kilometres whereas the UHAS-Titrinu road is 5.2 kilometres.
