Ace Radio Presenter and Disc Jockey Andrew Amoh, popularly known as Andy Dosty has admonished Ghanaian artistes to build relationships with radio presenters in order to get their songs played on air.
This came up after Konkarah Jahvybz, an upcoming Reggae and Dancehall artiste made claims on the Daybreak Hitz show, that most Reggae and Dancehall songs are not getting the much needed airplay, because there are less Reggae and Dancehall presenters on air.
In his quest to rebut the claims made by the artiste, the host of the show said most musicians do not send their songs to presenters for airplay after the song is released. He went further to say that even though most of these artistes produce good songs they tend to spread it within their fraternity and it stays there.
To justify his claim, he made reference to a song by Jah Lead, which he got a day after hearing it on a radio station. He noted that although he has a good relationship with Jah Lead, the artiste failed to send him the song.
"Most musicians don't send their songs. You produce good songs and you keep them or you have some sort of fraternity that you spread your songs within that zone and then it stays there. So for me I think the problem isn't only the presenters most of it has got to do with the musicians, the artistes," he said.
He concluded by urging all Ghanaian artistes to get closer to radio presenters so they can help them activate their songs.
"So please try hard to get closer to some of these presenters so they can help you activate your stuff. It is very important", he stressed.
