Plans are underway to have a water sports complex and waterfront resort in Seva near Anyako Konu in the Keta Municipality.
The move, according to the Assemblyman for the area, Wisdom Seade is to help turn the river banks in the communities into a tourist attraction.
Speaking with JoyNews, Wisdom Seade said the initiative would be spearheaded by some Spanish investors and the Keta Municipal Assembly, which will be led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Emmanuel Gemegah.
"If you come here in the afternoons, you will see young boys and girls swimming to the amazement of everyone, especially with the serene nature of the place it makes it convenient for people to swim and play around," Mr Seade said.
He indicated that the foreign investors had visited the area and made known their intentions to help develop the municipality.
Mr Wisdom Seade also noted that works are underway to turn part of the community into a picnic spot to host the youth who usually gather around during the Easter festivities.
He, therefore, called on government for support to see to the completion of the projects.
On his part, tourism promoter, Joel Degue, said tourism is the new currency that needs urgent attention especially in such communities like Seva, Anyako, Konu and other interesting places.
He added: "This project would bring a lot of employment to the area, improve economic growth and also serve as an eye opener for the people."
Keta MCE, Emmanuel Gemegah, also speaking to the JoyNews team noted that with the return of the Keta Initiative by the CEO of Villa Amore Hotel, migrants will come home to invest in such great projects for the development of the Municipality.
Mr Gemegah urged residents especially those in the diaspora to come together and develop the Keta Municipality
Mr Emmanuel Gemegah noted that Keta is blessed with much natural resources and he intends to make positive use of them.
He said, when the beautiful beaches and rivers are developed into waterfront resorts and many hospitality facilities, the Keta Municipality would be the centre of attraction in terms of tourism
"You see, if you just give a small portion of the lagoon and the beaches we have here to the whites, you will be amazed at the outcome and that's why we need to develop it," he said.
