Ghanaian gospel musician of international repute, Celestine Donkor, has urged other gospel musicians in Ghana to prioritise their music distribution to Boomplay and benefit from the support offered by the online music streaming service.
The singer has stated that benefits abound for musicians whose works are distributed to the Boomplay platform.
She is the first Ghanaian gospel musician to have an exclusive release and partnership deal with the biggest streaming platform in Africa.
She explained that through her management Dynamic Unlimited Incorporated, the decision stems from Boomplay's reach to a large African audience and also the support and prioritisation they give to Ghanaian and African content.
Celestine Donkor also said in a recent interview, "Boomplay, aside prioritising Ghanaian or African music content, they have great artiste relations and promotional partnership deals that include investing in artistes' recordings, video shoots, event sponsorships, among other provisions."
She, however, bemoaned the fact that Gospel musicians in Ghana have not fully enjoyed all these benefits.
‘Testimony Therapy’, a seven-track EP by Celestine Donkor, was released exclusively on the Boomplay streaming platform on January 28, 2022, and has been featured on the banners and playlists of the Boomplay App since the EP was released.
With five featured gospel artistes selected from four African countries, ‘Testimony Therapy’ sums up the healing power of one being grateful to God for His loving kindness and mercies.
Boomplay is Africa's leading music streaming and download service developed and owned by Transsnet Music Limited.
The release of Celestine’s EP is a precursor to the 9th edition of Celestine’s concert dubbed ‘Celestial Praiz’ which will be held on March 6, 2022.
