Asante Kotoko extended their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday following a dramatic win over Medeama Sporting Club in matchday 14 of the top-flight.
The Porcupine Warriors went into this weekend's round of games with a three-point lead at the summit of the league table.
Hosting Medeama at the Baba Yara Stadium, Georges Mfegue scored in the 78th minute of the game to give Kotoko the vital three points. The Cameroonian also missed from the spot in the dying embers of the game.
Accra Hearts of Oak were also dealt with a last-minute blow at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park as Humid Dafie scored in added time for Karela United.
The Anyinase-based side came into the game without a loss in their last three games and Saturday's result means they are on a run of four without defeat.
At the Dun's Park in Bibiani, Gold Stars came from a goal down to beat Legon Cities 2-1 as they raised to 12th on the league table.
Emmanuel Appau scored the equaliser for the Miners after Osman Amadu had given the Royals the lead. But a 78th-minute own goal by Francis Addo gave the home side all three points.
Tetteh Nortey's goal from the spot ensured a win for Techiman Eleven Wonders against Real Tamale United while Accra Great Olympics also defeated King Faisal in their encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium with a 2-1 scoreline.
The games between Bechem United and WAFA as well as Elmina Sharks and Berekum Chelsea all ended without a goal at the end of 90 minutes.
AshantiGold also their fifth league win of the 2021/22 campaign on Saturday, beating Accra Lions by a lone goal to nil away from home.
On Monday, January 24, Dreams FC will play host to Aduana Stars at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.
