Management of the University of Ghana has cautioned all prospective applicants to look out for activities of individuals who pretend to be admission agents and employees of the Institution.
In a notice issued by the Registrar, he advised interested applicants not to engage such fraudsters who deceive people into paying money under the pretext of securing them admission into the University.
“Applicants are advised not to engage with these fraudsters, as they are in no way able to influence admissions into the University.”
“Management would like to reiterate that admissions into the University are still going on, and are done in an open and fair manner, using cut-off points as detailed on the University’s website,” the notice added.
Persons who wish to apply for or make enquiries about the 2021/22 admissions have been encouraged to channel their concerns to only the Admissions Team.
“Any persons with information that can assist with apprehending these fraudsters should call 0244546417 to make a report,”
Meanwhile, the 2021/2022 academic year is set to commence for Level 100 students from January 5, 2022.
Continuing students will start reporting from January 13, 2022. After that, the University will revert to its usual academic calendar of 13 weeks.
This follows the implementation of the modular system, which was meant to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on campus among students, lecturers and staff.
It is also to lessen the burden of accommodation for students on campus.
First and final-year students went to school for nine weeks for both semesters in the previous academic year, after which level 200 and 300 students followed under the same period.
