Management of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has directed all contracted caterers to end feeding for basic school students after Friday, December 10, 2021.
Despite the extension of the vacation date for the third term to Friday, December 17, the caterers have been cautioned against any attempt to continue providing meals to beneficiary schools.
This comes after the Ghana Education Service (GES) extended the academic calendar for 3rd term to Friday, December 17, 2021 instead of the earlier date of Friday, December 10, 2021.
"The Management of the GSFP would like to communicate to its contracted caterers accordingly that, GSFP meals to beneficiary pupils should not go beyond this Friday, 10th of December, 2021," a statement dated December 10 and signed by GSFP Management said.
The notice added that "the GSFP will not be responsible for any school meal provided by any caterer in its beneficiary schools after the 10th of December, 2021."
While commending caterers for their hard work throughout the 2020/2021 academic year, the GSFP said catering services for the 3rd term will be paid for the period between Monday, September 6 to Friday, December 10.
"Management would like to emphatically assure you that the Controller and Accountant General is mobilising the needed funds for the payment of your 2nd term and other arrears as soon as possible," the notice added.
