The Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo has been in the trends on social media, following a suspicion that a lady who joined the Majority side to enable them rescind Speaker Alban Bagbin’s earlier decision on the 2022 budget was not the MP.

While some social media users argue that she was the one, others doubt the identity of the Adwoa Safo-lookalike individual who took part in parliamentary business on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Like the Minority in Parliament, some Twitter users believe the Majority did not have the numbers to approve the budget after it was earlier rejected on Friday.

They believe the supposed individual was sent into the Chamber to add up to the number of the Majority, to help them pass the budget.

Adwoa Sarfo is out of the country but we had her representative at the Parliament yesterday.

Some people have called for an investigation into the matter, describing the yet-to-be confirmed 'Adwoa Safo' as an impersonator and an imposter.

There are allegations that the lady seen in the widely circulated videos and photos are rather a sister to the MP.

Impersonation is a criminal offense, the IGP must probe this, his reputation is at stake.

The Minority in Parliament has begun investigating the case. This was disclosed by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in an interview on the Super Morning Show on Wednesday.

He said the Minority side suspects the lady the Majority side came in with was not the Dome-Kwabenya MP.

“Following pictures and videos we are reviewing this morning, it is becoming quite apparent to us that there may be a case of impersonation with regards to the lady who was presented as Adwoa Safo. It’s beginning to appear that she may not be Adwoa Safo,” he said.

But the Member of Parliament for Okaikoi Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah says his colleague was present in Parliament on Tuesday when the House approved the 2022 budget.
