The Kaneshie District Court has ordered the Police to immediately release the mobile phone belonging to Comedian, Funny Face to him.
Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face was arrested on October 18, 2021, after the comedian allegedly threatened to kill the mother of his children, Vanessa Nicole.
The Police subsequently seized his phone and arraigned him pending investigations.
He was later granted bail to a tune of GH¢20,000 with two sureties on November 2.
Appearing before the Court on Wednesday, Funny Face said he has signed a contract with Lantan Soya Milk which required him to consistently promote their products on his social media platforms, hence, he would need his phone to sufficiently execute the terms of that contract.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Sylvester Asare opposed the defendant’s request and argued that investigations are still ongoing and that the mobile phone would be needed during the investigations.
However, the presiding judge, His Worship, Kofi Oheneba-Kuffour ordered the immediate release of the phone.
The case has since been adjourned to January 4, 2022.
The Court on October 20, 2021, ordered that a psychiatric examination be conducted on Funny Face at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
He was also ordered to undergo a substance abuse examination at the Police Hospital in Accra.
The comedian has been discharged by the Accra Psychiatric hospital after undergoing two medical examinations. He is currently being charged with the threat of death.
Meanwhile, Funny Face has disclosed that he will soon release an Album titled “Aseda”.
According to him, the album will tell the story of his struggles.
