The Ghana Immigration Service has warned this year’s applicants about social media fraudsters promising protocol placement into the service.
In a statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs at the Service, Superintendent Michael Amoako-Atta, the institution urged all applicants to ignore messages directing them to pay huge sums of monies for recruitment.
The statement added that the service is “yet to publish the final list of successful candidates for the next stage.”
“Applicants are therefore to ignore any message directing them to report to the Immigration Service Academy and Training School to begin training, including reports that the Service is issuing admission letters or conducting medical examinations.
"They should be mindful of fraudsters on social media directing them to pay various sums of monies for special protocol placement into the GIS, and report all such persons to the police,” the statement stressed.
On October 25, 2021 thousands of Ghanaian youth thronged various registration centres across the country for screening and subsequent recruitment into the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).
Successful applicants who passed the screening later took part in an aptitude test and now awaits enlistment into the service.
