Thomas Partey is set to miss Ghana’s penultimate World Cup qualifiers group game against Ethiopia as a precautionary measure due to groin tightness.
The Arsenal midfielder will however link up with the team in Ghana for the match against South Africa after the Ghana Football Associated (GFA) requested he makes the trip down for assessment.
Partey picked up a groin issue on Thursday ahead of Arsenal’s league game against Watford on Sunday and missed his side’s 1-0 win over the Hornets.
The 28-year-old missed the opening two games of the qualifiers but teamed up with the squad for the double-header against Zimbabwe, scoring in both fixtures.
Ghana are expected to jet off to Johannesburg later on Tuesday ahead of the clash against Ethiopia on Thursday at the Orlando Stadium on November 11.
The Black Stars will then host Bafana Bafana in their final group game three days later at the Cape Coast Stadium.
