Medeama Chief Executive Officer, James Essilfie, believes fans of the club have to be measured in their expectations this season.
The Tarkwa-based club suffered the heaviest defeat of matchday one in the Ghana Premier League after losing 4-0 to Bechem United.
Ignatius Osei Fosu, who took charge of his first game as Medeama coach had a debut to forget as his side failed to compete.
Essilfie has urged supporters of the club to be a bit modest with their expectations.
“It’s important for our fans to measure their weight of expectation of the team this season,” Essilfie told Medeama's media team.
“We have a new coach and he will need to time to get everything right. We don’t want to pressure on him and the players.
“This is a very demanding club but it’s important to be realistic in the scheme of things.
“We have a good squad capable of competing but we need time for them to gel,” he concluded.
Medeama will next take on Bibiani Goldstars at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
