Owner of Blck Attitude Studios, Michele Edinam Azumah, has been making strides in Ghana’s fashion space, featuring in the 2021 Riohs Sow.
But her journey has not always been rosy. The designer talks about her craft, the support of her family and her spell in the United States.
She also speaks about the difficulties of being a creator and fashion designer in Ghana. “Some people want to determine your value and pay you what they think you are worth,” the designer bemoans.
Sharing her story with “Loc’d Up Stories” Ms. Azumah noted the inspiration for her journey is reminding herself that she is a seed that has been planted and will eventually grow.
“I also assess every prospective job and determine if it is something I have to take up,” she says. She also shares her experience with gender bias in her field.
