The Ghana Police Service says that it has commenced investigations into the whereabouts of Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, who is reported to have been attacked, according to his Personal Assistant.
This follows news on social media that Shatta Wale born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, has been shot by unknown individual(s) and has allegedly passed away.
Comments from Twitter saw many Ghanaians express worry as others demanded further details of the star's condition.
Concerns flared up when a prophesy of Shatta Wale's death by one Bishop Stephen Akwasi popped up.

Taking to Facebook amidst the concerns, the Police Service has noted that its outfit is abreast with the rumours circulating on social media and has taken immediate actions.
According to the Service, family members and close friends of the "My level" hitmaker have been contacted. However, none of those reached were able to provide details of the whereabouts of Shatta Wale.
"The attention of the Police has been drawn to the widely circulated news on the alleged gunshot-attack on one Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
"On hearing the news, the police have launched an investigation into the matter including making contacts with some of his close friends and family members and all of them claim not to have knowledge of his whereabouts or the alleged incident."
The Police further noted that a team that was deployed to the residence of the dancehall artiste was also unable to locate him.
Meanwhile, the Service says it continues to search every nook and cranny particularly the various hospitals in Accra for the musician.
To expedite processes to locate Shatta Wale, the public is being urged to contact the Police Service on the numbers 18555, 191 and 0302773906, once they come into contact with the artiste or are aware of his current location.
