A man who has shot his wife to death and inflicted cutlass wounds on his mother-in-law is said to be on the run at Sankore in the Ahafo Region.
According to an eyewitness, the wounded mother-in-law is in critical condition after he inflicted cutlass wounds on her in the early hours of Thursday at an area called Three Brothers.
The eyewitness who narrated the incident on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem gave the deceased’s name as Gifty.
According to her, the deceased left her husband’s house about two months ago following a misunderstanding.
She explained that Gifty had been in her parents’ house with their three children until her demise.
The eyewitness said the angry husband stormed the house with a gun and a machete.
“He had an altercation with the wife and attempted to fire the gun, which led to a struggle over the weapon. A first shot was fired into the air, but the second hit Gifty, leading to her death,” she said.
After killing his wife, he also attacked his mother-in-law, who had their baby at her back. He slashed her forehead and leg.
The suspect is said to have ransacked the house and bolted with his father-in-law.
