The former Nkwanta South MP, Gershon Kofi Bediako Gbediame, has died at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
A close family member, Bright Nkease, who confirmed the sad news, said the 86-year-old died in the early hours of Wednesday, September 8.
The Majority Chief Whip in the 6th Parliament of the 4th Republic has been described as a selfless, committed and hardworking man who has contributed his bit towards developing his constituency during his tenure as MP.
Geoffrey Kini, the NDC MP for the area and the Constituency Executive Committee have commiserated with the family of the former Physics tutor at the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School in Legon.
"The leadership of the constituency passes the commiseration of the Party to the bereaved family and all constituents," Odiamono Kwame, the Communication Officer of the constituency, said.
The late Gershon Gbediame was a Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South from 1996 to 2016.
