The Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery has admonished prospective applicants to the state’s security services, not to pay any person to facilitate their recruitment.
Addressing supporters of the New Patriotic Party in the Nandom Constituency, who defied a heavy downpour to attend the constituency conference, Sunday, Ambrose Dery stated that persons who want to join any of the security services in the country, need not make any payments before being selected.
In addition, he stated that there is nothing like a protocol list that people are recruited from.
Ambrose Dery, who doubles as the MP for Nandom said, “there are some criminals who go round asking you to pay monies because they want to put you on protocol list for recruitment into security agencies. There’s nothing like that. You saw in the papers; Ghanaian Times last Friday, the Police have come out, next week the other agencies are also going to come out and you’ll be required to apply online. And when you apply online, the process will then go on transparently and all qualified Ghanaians will be given a chance to be part of the recruitment.”
‘‘The only thing you have to do is to use 50 or 100 Ghana Cedis to get your number, go online and get your print out; that is what is going to guide us going forward,’’ he further stated.
The Interior Minister applauded personnel of the Ghana Police Service together with other sister security organisations.
“I want to thank all of you citizens for supporting the agencies. The Police is doing very well collaborating with the army and all the other agencies. We are not going to sacrifice that for money so please be guided,” he said.
