Electroland Ghana Limited (NASCO) has contributed an amount of USD 60,000 in support of the Black Stars’ participation in the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The kind gesture is the company’s response to the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s call on corporate bodies to support the senior and other national teams for their upcoming international assignments.
Managing director of Electroland Ghana Limited(NASCO) Mr Nour Sekloui who announced the package, intimated that the donation is the company’s support to enable Ghana end the 40-years AFCON trophy drought.
National sales Manager of Electroland Ghana Mr Vincent Azan Gbiok also explained that the Company will present an amount of $10,000 per month for the next six months to the Ministry of Sports.
Minister of Youth & Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif who received the cheque,thanked Electroland (NASCO) for their kind gesture and urged other corporate bodies to emulate this gesture.
“On behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana and the good people of Ghana let me thank Electroland Ghana (NASCO) for responding to the President’s clarion call for corporate bodies to support our national football teams”.
“This will go a very long way to lift some of the financial burden off Government in funding the qualification to the World Cup and Ghana’s participation in the upcoming AFCON in Cameroon”, Hon Mustapha Ussif stated at the brief presentation ceremony which was held at the Head office of Electroland Ghana on Wednesday morning.
Electroland Ghana (NASCO) are the sponsors of the Ghana Premier League Man of the Match awards and the Women’s Premier League Player of the match awards.
The company also presents awards to the player and coach of the month for both top flight competitions.
