Hasaacas Ladies’ hopes of reaching the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League took a big hit after losing their opening game against Nigerian giants River Angels.
Hasaacas Ladies started brighter and created the first big chance of the game when Doris Boaduwaa was put through on goal by Millot Pokua. Doris missed her opportunity as the game remained goalless.
River Angels grew into the game and took the lead in the 17th minute through Abiodun Deborah.
River Angels continued to pile pressure in the second half and doubled their lead 10 minutes after the break through Ezenagu Maryann.

The result leaves Hasaacas Ladies at the bottom of Group B. They face Niger’s AS Police of Niamey in their final game and will need three points to stand a chance of securing qualification.
The winners of each group progress to the continental showpiece in Egypt later this year.
