Global Media Alliance (GMA), Ghana’s leading Integrated Marketing Communications agency, has commemorated the maiden World Public Relations Day (WPRD), which has been slated to be celebrated on 16th July globally.
The organisation has undertaken a series of internal and social media activations to raise awareness about both the impact and relevance of public relations.
Speaking on the celebration, Emma Wenani, Chief Director at GMA, explained the rationale behind the celebration;
“The celebration of PR with a dedicated day has been a long time coming, and here at GMA, we are thrilled to use the day to share our success stories after practising for over 20 years in the African sub-region.
"We have seen the role PR has played in establishing brands and impacting societies, and we want to use this day to amplify the importance of PR”, she explained.
Over the past 20 years, Global Media Alliance has won several awards both locally and internationally, ranging from PR Consultancy of the Year from the Institute of Public Relations Ghana (IPR) to the International Award for Excellence in Corporate Communication from the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).
“Some of the PR services we offer include brand management, crisis communication, reputation management and media relations. We have served and continue to work with various industries ranging from telecommunications, banking and finance, oil and gas, technology, FMCGs and international development agencies to real estate and the retail market. We certainly look forward to working with more organizations in the near future,” Ms Wenani added.
This year’s World PR Day theme is 'Influence; the global celebrations of trust, truth and influence'.
The PR practice started in the 1900s in the US and has taken on different roles over the years as it spread globally.
The main objective of the profession is to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships between organisations and their publics.
“We would also like to take the opportunity to wish our colleagues in the industry a wonderful World PR Day. Let us continue to execute our PR mandate with passion,” she concluded.
Global Media Alliance is an Integrated Marketing Communications Company with over 20 years of experience and expertise in PR and Media Consultancy, Event Management and Brand Activations, Creative Designs & Production and Digital Innovations.
