Deputy General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahen has revealed there are arrangements for him to manage Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's bid to lead the NPP in the upcoming 2024 elections.
This is on the condition that the Vice-President decides to contest the party's presidential primaries.
Nana Obiri Boahen, who has already endorsed the candidature of Dr Bawumia, says he will resign as Deputy General Secretary when the party opens the window for campaigning.
Speaking on Nhyira FM's Kroyi Mu Nsem, a delegation, whose membership he refused to name, has contacted him to take the position to manage Dr Bawumia's campaign.
Though he will not go into reasons for the choice of Dr Bawumia, he believes the Vice President deserves the support when he takes the decision to contest.
Months after Nana Akufo-Addo commenced his second term as President, some supporters of the NPP are already campaigning for various individuals to lead the party.
Key among them is Alan Kyeremanteng, the Minister for Trade and Industry and Vice-President Dr Bawumia.
Supporters of the two candidates have openly displayed their affection and to some extent campaigned for their choice, despite the party's insistence the timing is wrong.
Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto is among individuals believed to have expressed interest in the Presidential position.
