A 40-year-old man who suffered a head injury in an attack at Ejura on Saturday dawn has died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Medical Doctor at the Ejura Government Hospital, Dr Mensah Manye, told JoyNews that Mr Mohammed's head injury was severe with internal bleeding.
The deceased was attacked by two assailants yet to be arrested by the police.
He was repeatedly struck in the head with objects until he lost consciousness.
At the time he was received at the hospital, Mr Mohammed was not responding to external stimuli because of the injury.
Dr Manye was compelled to refer him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for further medical attention.
Sources say Mr. Mohammed was on oxygen until he died at about 1:30 pm Monday.
The body has been deposited at the morgue.
Mr Mohammed is also known as Kaaka by Family and friends.
Members of the Economic Fighters League (EFL) who have been following up on Mr Mohammed's condition have expressed worry about the incident.
Fighter-General Hardi Yakubu has charged the Ghana Police Service to leave no stone unturned to bring the culprits of the act to book.
"All Ghanaians and people of conscience must rise and answer our call to action."
He said they couldn't let the death of an innocent man go unresolved.
"Kaaka was murdered for asking for better Ejura, for a fixed country. What was his crime?" Fight-General Yakubu asked.
Kaaka's family and friends are mourning the death of a man they believe was only calling for a better life for his people.
They want the police to do the needful.
