Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and Deputy Minster designate Evans Opoku Bobie visited the senior national team, Black Stars, at their camp in Cape Coast.
The visit was to wish the team well ahead of this month’s friendly matches and also to assure the team of governments continues support going into the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Ussif also took time to remind the players and the technical team of the need to strive to make it to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - with the qualifiers set to begin in September, 2021.
Ghana have lined up two international friendly matches against Morocco and Ivory Coast this month.
The Black Stars will take on the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Tuesday, June 8, in Rabat, before hosting the Elephants of Ivory Coast on Saturday, June 12, at the Cape Coast stadium.
Jordan Ayew spoke on behalf of the players and thanked the minister for the visit.
Head coach, Charles Akonnor expressed gratitude to Ussif for being committed to the forward marching of the team.
The Black Stars have been training at Cape Coast ahead of the two matches.
