Vitória de Guimarães defenders, Abdul Mumin and Gideon Mensah believe a lot more work has to be done when it comes to contributing to a sustainable environment in Ghana.
The pair recently invested in the first edition of the Innovation Hackathon which took place in Kumasi.
The event brought together 18 different startup ideas around the areas of Agri-Tech, Climate Action and Renewable Energy.
Speaking on behalf of both players, Mumin explained why his team at HC Talent Group embarked on this project.
“Myself, Gideon Mensah and Eric thought that we have to embarking on more sustainable projects. If we look at the neighborhoods that we come from there are a lot of entrepreneurs with great ideas. My team and I decided we could help make some of these ideas a reality”
Mumin who enjoyed the experience in Kumasi believes this is just the beginning of such projects.
“Although we were here to invest, we’ve learnt a lot from what they pitched. It’s hard because we can’t help them all. But we want to do more and we hope in future we can invest with a bigger capital,” he told Joy Sports.
Mumin and Mensah enjoyed last season together at Vitória de Guimarães.
